The above picture showcases what I had in mind when imagining what a class would look like. Students studying and taking note in the iconic foldable chair+desk combo, while others loitering around with books on their hands. Minus the lecturers and those who missed their class frequently.
Being enrolled in a distance learning course, a Zoom meeting with everyone's camera is the closest approximation to above.
Another quirks I learned about distance learning, at least in Telkom University, is that no on-cam Zoom meeting is obligatory, thus you are offerred a true asynchronous learning. Except the exams, but those are self-explanatory.
Is that good or bad?
Depends on your preference, and your situation. For me personally, it is more about my situation, as I'm currently a productive (my boss might say otherwise) full-time worker gave me little choice in pursuing a diploma. I'm grateful that Telkom Univeristy, being one of the top-tiered university in Indonesia, offerred this course.
Is it feasible?
Only time will tell, but being asynchronous, you have the freedom of time. But you will also need discipline, since you alone will be responsible for your time management. Personally, this is my main beef for years, I expect a hard struggle, but it's a survive or left-behind situation.
At this point, this feels like a juncture in my life. We always strives to be a better person, and this endeavour is inadvertently one of them.
