When I was a child, I dreamed of buying all the things I want when I started working. Turns out, like all children dreams, it is not as easy as it sounds. And having everything you want is not a good idea as it may seems.
Consider, to appreciate the Sun you need to know that it is really dark without the Sun during the night. To appreciate kindness, you need to know what indifference, or even hostility first. That most kind people are the one who were (or are) the most hurt.
To appreciate the value of something, or even someone, sometimes you need to lose them, or you will take them granted.
Now, if you have everything that you want right from the start, it would be really bad if you were to lose them at some point in your life. This is not a pessimism, just reality, that nothing lasts forever. Everything has an end, and most likely you'll prefer being prepared for it.
I guess being denied some things are better than having all your wish granted. It is a ticking bomb in the future. Be blessed for what you have. Because you can't lose something you don't have, and that's a blessing in disguise.
