There had been times when reading was such a slog and unbearable journey, and times where it had been pleasant, exciting, and looked forward such as now. Reading has been my favourite past time since my first book with The Famous Five (Lima Sekawan) back when I was 8.
Since August alone, I had finished 8 books (World War Z, The Iron Tactician, Elysium Fire, Sea of Tranquility, Ready Player One, Piranesi, Annihilation, Dungeon Crawler Carl), which is a personal record of mine, averaging 1 book every 1,5 week (and almost 1 book every week with the latest pace)!
This is due to combination of several factors:
- Personal motivation not to let Tiktok chipped away my attention span
- Access to trove of books and audiobooks 🐭
- A freetime to read books
- Turning my old phone into a personal reader with no distractions
- Finding Hardcover that helps me track books that I have read, and found new recommendations (also integrates progress with my reader)
And turns out it had been a spectacular success! At first, I reread books that I am familiar with (World War Z and Elysium Fire) such that I know the effort I'm pulling is not wasted on a borked ending.
Currently, I'm reading Dungeon Crawler Carl series, which is unbeliavably good. LitRPG is a new genre for me, but it hasn't disappoint so far. I'm reading the audiobook along with the ebook, which helps a lot. These are my first audiobooks, and boy, again, no regret at all.
P.S. follow me on Hardcover as @zef and track our books together
